Sioux Falls celebrates 'Earth Month' in April

(File)

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation celebrates 'Earth Month' in April with two family-friendly festivals.

The Earth Day Festival takes place Apr. 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Great Bear Recreation Park.

Activities include a self-guided scavenger hunt and a tote bag decorating station to promote reducing single-use bags. Participants also receive a grow kit to start a garden at home.

Sioux Falls celebrates the Urban Arbor Day Festival Apr. 27, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Pasley Park. This festival features demonstrations, live music from the Crabgrass Crew, and hands-on birdhouse-building.

Both the festivals are free and open to the public.
