State officials are holding public informational meetings in Watertown and Milbank to answer questions about the spread of emerald ash borer.
The invasive insect was confirmed for the first time in both communities in recent weeks.
The state Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is hosting these meetings to help residents recognize signs of an infestation and learn what can be done to manage the pest.
Watertown’s meeting is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Codington County Extension Complex. Milbank’s meeting is Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Grant County Visitor Center.
More information on the emerald ash borer is available on the DANR's website.
