The number of South Dakotans infected with COVID-19 has fallen below 20,000 for the first time in almost a month.
The state Health Department says there are about 18,000 people actively infected with the disease.
However, the state also reports nine new deaths with COVID, bringing the state’s toll to 2,676.
312 people are hospitalized with the disease.
