The abuse & maltreatment of children in SD is preventable

The interview posted above is from SDPB's daily public affairs show, In the Moment with Lori Walsh.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month. Kristi Kranz is training manager with the Center for the Prevention of Childhood Maltreatment and Susan Smith is the program coordinator.

The South Dakota Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment raises awareness of how they can help South Dakotans know about, respond to, and prevent child maltreatment.

Children in South Dakota face being mistreated or abused at a high rate. This is preventable and the South Dakota Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment Center aims to bring awareness and hopes to lower these numbers.

Families and communities working side by side to prevent child abuse and maltreatment is critical. This assists in encouraging the social and emotional well-being of families and children.

Lori Walsh is a special correspondent with SDPB and host of the "In the Moment" podcast.
Chris has nearly 30 years of experience in radio broadcasting and production.
