The interview posted above is from SDPB's daily public affairs show, In the Moment with Lori Walsh.

Is it possible to end child sexual abuse in South Dakota? The Center for the Prevention of Childhood Maltreatment has a plan. Leaders of the organization are under no illusions about the complexity of the problem. But they also know the power of education, infrastructure, and response services. We welcome Director Carrie Sanderson.

  • To report child abuse or neglect call 1-877-244-0864.
  • Department of Social Services intake specialists are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • If reporting before 8 a.m., after 5 p.m., on the weekends or during a holiday, please contact local law enforcement.
  • Always call 911 if a child is in immediate danger!
Lori Walsh is a special correspondent with SDPB and host of the "In the Moment" podcast.
