South Dakota women cross borders to get mifepristone

The drug manufacturer GenBioPro received FDA approval for its generic version of the abortion pill mifepristone — the first dose in a widely-used, two-drug protocol — in 2019.

The medication mifepristone can be used to terminate a pregnancy that's fewer than 10 weeks along. Access to the drug has been a frequent target of legal challenges.
