South Dakota traditionally has the highest numbers of West Nile virus cases. We discuss what you need to know about the virus and its pesky insect carriers going into the peak of the virus' season.

Anita Bharadwaja is an epidemiologist with the South Dakota Department of Health. She shares how to prevent infections, what symptoms you should watch for and the number of cases so far.
