The South Dakota Department of Health is launching multiple mobile clinics.
The Wellness on Wheels program aims to provide care to all parts of the state. Accessibility to care is consistently an issue in rural communities, according to the department.
Mobile clinics will provide services like immunizations, STD testing, developmental screenings and other support for women, infants and children.
Clinics will meet patients at their work or home to provide services.
The Department of Health is holding a kickoff event in Pierre on May 1 at 4 p.m. CT to launch the program.
