SDPB & SDHSAA State Golf Championship Coverage

This past weekend brought state championship competitions for both softball and golf. SDPB's Nate Wek was there, and shares some highlights from the playing fields.

A Sully Buttes kid has won a state boys golf championship for the first time since 1977. Gavin Colson, a sophomore for the Chargers, finished the ‘B’ boys state tournament on Tuesday with a score of six-over-par.

Clark/Willow Lake’s Brynn Roehrich is the state ‘B’ girls golf champion for this year. The Cyclones freshman completed the two-day tournament at +12 – a six stroke lead over Jayce Pugh of Miller who shot +18 and placed second.

For over 10 years, he had the title of the Fastest Man in High School Track in South Dakota. Chris Fischer joins Craig Mattick on this edition of In Play.
