Tree Party/Pert Near Sandstone

The Sioux River Folk Festival has been a South Dakota tradition for thirty-eight years.  Every August, Newton Hills State Park is filled with the sounds of all the different kinds of music that encompass the generous genre of "folk". We're featuring Tree Party and Pert Near Sandstone, the two headlining bands from the second night of the festival. Both bands played Folk Fest earlier in their respective careers, both bands are based in the Twin Cities - and they highlight how different two bands playing at the same folk festival can have very different sounds.
