45 years ago, Black Hills community leaders commissioned a study to research why people chose to live in the region and what it would take for more people to come, stay, live and grow in the Black Hills in the future. That study did not specifically focus on younger demographics, but during a recent episode of “Where do we go from here” at the Black Hills studio’s in Rapid City, the panel discussed how community interaction and quality of life are important incentives for young professionals to stay and have a career in Western South Dakota.
