The victim of a shooting outside the South Dakota Rose Inn in Rapid City has been identified as thirty-three year old Eustacio Marrufo. Rapid City Police and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office were called to the motel shortly after 7:00pm Monday night.
Tarah Heupel is the Community Relations Specialist for the Rapid City Police Department. She says the investigation is on-going.
“Police were initially called there for a report of gun shots and when police arrived they found a male victim in the parking lot and he was pronounced at the scene,” says Heupel.
Law enforcement authorities say they believe Marrufo was acquainted with the shooter. An autopsy is scheduled for today. Officials say they will release more information to the public as it becomes available.
