Victim Identified in Fatal Car Accident

A high-speed accident in Sioux Falls Thursday claimed the life of one person and injured several others. The victim of the fatal accident has been identified as thirty-two year old Troy M. Hohn of Sioux Falls.

Hohn was north bound on Minnesota Avenue when his vehicle made contact with another car stopped at the intersection of 41st and Minnesota. Lieutenant Jerome Miller of the Sioux Falls police department said speed was a factor in the accident.

“We do not know what all the details as far as why he was driving as fast as what he was. I know there is a couple speeds that have been thrown out there, they were not from us. Like I say we have heard some witness speeds but I don’t want to get into speculations but I think anybody can look at the damage on these vehicles, how many were involved and how far they went its pretty safe to say it was an extremely high rate of speed,” said Miller.

Miller said the investigation into the case is on going. Hohn was pronounced dead at the seen by rural metro. The occupants of two of the seven vehicles involved in the crash were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
