Stand Off Ends Peaceafully as Man is Taken into Custody

A stand off in Sioux Falls involving a person of interest in a death investigation near Chamberlain ended peacefully Thursday night.

Thirty six year old Kent Davidson surrendered to authorities after a SWAT team had been called out to an apartment located in central Sioux Falls. Jim Larson with the Sioux Falls police Department said state authorities informed them of Davidson's location.
“DCI had been investigating this prior and based on their investigation had received information on a possible location. Due to Mr. Davison’s being considered armed and dangerous SWAT was called out at that point. Crises negotiating unit was out also and they were in full contact with him during this time,” said Larson.

Larson said Davidson is being held in custody for a parole violation. Davidson is not currently charged with anything involving the death investigation near Chamberlin.  Attorney general Marty Jackelyn said a 26-year-old Mitchell woman was found dead in a shed on March 14h.
