Statues honoring South Dakota Governors Frank L. Farrar, Harvey L. Wollman and William J. Janklow will be unveiled during a ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre, S.D. at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 14. The public is invited to attend. Those witnessing the unveiling will include Governor Dennis Daugaard as well as former Governors Farrar, Miller, Rounds and Wollman. These statues will be added to the trail which begins in downtown Pierre and winds its way through the state's Capitol grounds. Statues for Governors Bushfield and Mellette were placed on the trail following last year's unveiling ceremony. Sculptors are John Lopez of Lemmon, James Michael Maher of Belle Fourche, and Lee Leuning and Sherri Treeby of Aberdeen. Frank Farrar served as the state's attorney general from 1963 to 1969, and as governor from 1969 to 1971. After leaving office, he chaired several holding companies and became the owner of numerous banks. In recent years he's competed in Iron Man competitions.
