The South Dakota Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 29 from Brookings to the North Dakota line this (Sunday) afternoon. This is in addition to the Interstate closure from the North Dakota line to the Canadian Border. Powerful wind gusts are causing near white-out conditions in many parts of eastern South Dakota, along with sections of North Dakota and Minnesota. Forecasters say dangerous wind chills could remain in the region over the next several days.
