An unidentified man was killed in a garage fire late Sunday night in Rapid City. Tarah Heupel of the Rapid City Police Department says officials responded to a call at about 11:15 p.m.
“A Pennington County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed smoke coming from a shed on the property 1803 Sioux Ave. The Fire Department was called and they were able to distinguish the fire in that shed, and afterwards a deceased male subject was found inside the shed,” says Heupel.
According to Heupel the Police Department and Sheriff’s Office are conducting a joint death investigation. The Rapid City Fire Department is working to determine the cause of the fire. Police Officials say the victim was not a resident of the home.
