City Asks Sioux Falls Residents To Curb Water Usage

City workers are still assessing and tending to damage after a severe storm blew through the Sioux Falls area yesterday afternoon.

Sioux Falls Utility Operations Administrator Trent Lubbers says his crews are still seeing high flows but they are making progress with clean-up efforts. He says residents can help.

“Anything that our residents and customers can do to help us out by using a little bit less water than they would in their normal day by maybe putting off laundry for a couple of days or putting off that load of dishes – that kind of thing would certainly help. Any water that we can keep out of the sanitary sewer system right now because it’s overloaded would be helpful,” says Lubbers.

Lubbers is asking the public to keep water usage to a minimum for the next few days.
