The Knight Foundation is looking for ways to make Aberdeen more successful. Applicants have until 4:00 Friday to share their ideas.
Bahia Ramos is the Program Director for Community Foundations at the Knight Foundation. She says the organization wants to know how Aberdeen can attract and retain talent, expand economic opportunity, and create a culture of robust civic engagement. She says anyone can apply.
“You know I think this is for the designer, the hacker, the entrepreneur, the voices that don’t always get represented in philanthropy to have a chance to put their ideas on the table,” Ramos says. “As a foundation we also recognize we don’t know what we don’t know and we feel the best ideas come from community and we wanted the chance to have access to those ideas.”
Ramos says a total of five million dollars is available for projects in 26 cities across the country. She says applicants only need to answer a couple of questions to enter the first round.
