Fifty years ago today, boxer Muhammad Ali faced challenger Ernie Terrell for 15 rounds, culminating in a unanimous win for the champ. In a few weeks, Ali was stripped of his championship, his boxing license, and his passport. He had refused to be drafted for service in Vietnam. Today we talk with Randy Roberts (co-author of "Blood Brothers: The Fatal Friendship between Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X” and distinguished professor of history at Purdue University) about a time in Muhammad Ali’s career that clarified his voice for a nation in turmoil

Timothy McVeigh was deeply influenced by the literature and ideas of a radical right political movement. On April 19, 1995, he parked a truck with a five-ton fertilizer bomb in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City; the blast killed 168 people and injured 675.
