The Bush Foundation announces its 2017 Fellows this week. Each Fellow receives up to $100,000 in order to pursue the education and experiences they believe will help them become more effective leaders. It's a program unique to our region, and this year three Rapid City residents have been honored with the distinction. Today we talk with 2017 Bush Fellow Heather Dawn Thompson.
Artist Jamie Burmeister is in residency at the University of South Dakota this week. He's known for his innovative installations that sometimes take over entire cities with flashing lights and morse code. He's known for his kinetic sculptures that captivate and engage audiences. And he's known for his Vermin. The vermin are small clay human figurines, the likes of which have been installed with imagination, affection, and humor by art lovers across the globe.
