We begin hour two with the Dakota Political Junkies. Seth Tupper (rapidcityjournal.com) and Jonathan Ellis (argusleader.com) join us. We talk about how changes in immigration policies affect the tourism industry in the Black Hills, speeding statistics from the Highway Patrol, and the future of concealed carry legislation.

A new Restoration Center in Rapid City is planned for 2018. The facility features a single-point-of-entry model for those suffering from mental health issues and chronic addiction. We’re joined by Barry Tice, Pennington County Health and Human Services Director.

It's been 50 years since the first successful human liver transplant was performed. Since then more than 149,000 people have received donated replacements for the second largest organ in their bodies. But some 1,500 patients die every year waiting for an available liver. SDPB's Jim Kent spoke with a Hot Springs resident who recently celebrated her 5-year liver transplant anniversary and notes that it would never have been possible without a donor.

Dr. Jeffrey Steers is a transplant surgeon with the Avera Transplant Institute. He joins us to talk about the process of organ donation and transplant, the challenges of telling patients no organs are available, and the joys of watching patients thrive after successful surgeries.
