The San Antonio human smuggling tragedy that left 10 dead is a stark reminder that the business of selling people is prevalent.

Hollie Strand is a Computer Forensics Analyst for the Pennington County Sheriff's Office. She chairs the Western South Dakota Human Trafficking Task Force, a team of law enforcement officials that investigates and shuts down in-person and online traffickers. The task force is one of five chosen to attend a national conference on human trafficking this year. SDPB's Leah Cover learns more about the conference and the state of human trafficking in South Dakota.

A church organization in Sioux Falls is looking for old bikes to repurpose for a good cause.  SDPB's Andrew Bork has the story of how a Sioux Falls group gives the bikes and people a second chance.

Chris Gage grew up in South Dakota. He played his first gig at the VFW in Pierre and then worked through the 1970's with South Dakota's "Red Willow Band.” Today he and his wife, Christine Albert, are based in Austin Texas. They're back in South Dakota this week.  Chris played guitar with Jerry Jeff Walker last weekend in Sioux Falls with Albert and Gage opening.  And, they'll be playing shows with the Red Willow Band this week in Lead, and Renner,  joined at a few of the show by South Dakota singer and songwriter Tom Peterson. Matt Weesner, host of SDPB's Saturday night show, "On Record,” had a chance to talk with Albert and Gage.
