High Demand For Affordable Housing In Rapid City

Chynna Lockett

In The Moment ... June 26, 2018 Show 366  Hour 1

A new study from the Black Hills Knowledge Network shows high demand for affordable housing in the Rapid City Area. The study also shows that while the average income in the state and country went up from 2010 to 2016, in Rapid City it went down.

The study is making news across the state and people are talking about what a tourism driven economy means for Black Hills residents. What financial tools exist to support affordable housing development?

For a look at these questions and more we're joined by the study's project director Jared McEntaffer, regional economist with Black Hills Knowledge Network, and Liz Hamburg, Executive Director with the Black Hills Area Community Foundation.

Chris has nearly 30 years of experience in radio broadcasting and production.
