Today is National Watermelon Day. Some of the best watermelon in the world are grown right here in South Dakota, just west of the James River. The annual Forestburg Melon Festival takes place August 18 and the State Fair in Huron at the end of this month drives long chains of melon-buyers to make their traditional stops at the melon stands along the highway.
Today we talk with melon grower Kelly Larson.
