She was almost the first female governor of South Dakota. Gladys Pyle was the first woman elected to the S.D. House, the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate, and the first woman to address a national political convention.

For today's Images of the Past, we learned more about Senator Gladys Pyle with veteran Huron broadcaster Chuck Anderson and Rachel Farrell, current director of the Gladys Pyle House and Museum.
