A new business in Aberdeen is offering a new service for those looking for a faster biking experience.
Oz Motorz provides pedal bikes with an electric motor, or e-bikes, for Aberdeen residents looking to travel in a more efficient way.
Jason Osborn is the founder of Oz Motorz. He says e-bikes are useful for riders of all ages.
"You remember, from being a kid growing up and how much fun you had on your bicycle. It’s kind of re-capturing that a little bit for some of the older folks," says Osborn. "For teens and young adults, you’re looking at the aspect of being able to go farther.”
E-bikes have risen in popularity across the country as part of a push to save money on gas and protect the environment while putting less pressure on the rider’s joints with electronic power.
Osborn’s e-bikes can go up to 30 mph, and have a range of about 10 miles on a full battery.
