Authorities have released a new age progression image of Serenity Dennard, the girl who went missing in the Black Hills four years ago.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Pennington County Sheriff's Office released the images Friday, May 12 - Serenity's 14th birthday.

Serenity was last seen in February of 2019 running from the Children's Home Society, located between Rockerville and Keystone. An extensive search involving several law enforcement agencies ensued.

It's still unclear what happened to Serenity, and authorities say the investigation remains active.

Officials are asking people to focus on the age progression image created by forensic artists at NCMEC and share it on social media. The image was created using photos of Serenity’s family members and shows what she might look like at age 14.

“This is another investigative tool in an open and active investigation,” said Pennington County Sheriff Brian Mueller. “Although the physical search has been exhausted, we follow up on all leads as we look for answers in this painful and difficult missing person case.”

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Serenity's whereabouts to contact the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office at 605-394-6115.
