On today's In the Moment...

Fifty years ago, a 71-day standoff began at Wounded Knee. In the Moment talks to Madonna Thunder Hawk, who witnessed—and took part in—history during the event.

Jim Abourezk was a U.S. Senator during Wounded Knee and visited during the protest. He passed away last week. SDPB's Cara Hetland reflects on his life and legacy.

During an episode heavy with history and reflection, Lura Roti with SDPB brings us a timely story. She went to the Center for Western Studies at Augustana University to talk to a small-town historian among the archives.

Plus, we bring you more of Lori Walsh's conversation with Leslie Morgan Steiner. Their segment begins with an uncomfortable question: What does the number of domestic abuse victims in our communities say about the number of abusers?
