Rethinking our relationship with water

On today's show...

Four South Dakotans came together at the 2024 South Dakota Festival of Books to unpack our connection with our water.

Do you know where your water comes from? It doesn't just appear out of the tap.

Jay Gilbertson is the long-time manager of the East Dakota Water Development District. Based in Brookings, he has worked on a wide range of water and natural resource issues.

Travis Entenman is the managing director of Friends of the Big Sioux River, which tests the water quality of the river, and executive director of Northern Prairies Land Trust. He sits on the Minnehaha Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

David O'Hara, Ph.D., is a professor of environmental studies, religion and philosophy and directs the programs in Environmental Studies and Sustainability at Augustana University. He was part of a team that created IBM's Call for Code Clean Water Challenge, engaging almost 30,000 university students around the world.

And Don Carr is a freelance journalist and author of the environmental crime thriller "The Midnight Rambler."
