Trying to stay one step ahead of the illicit economy

On today's show...

A new research experiences for undergraduates program in South Dakota explores the economy of illegal activities.

Three professors share how the program uses a multidisciplinary approach to study the multifaceted illicit economy (1:00 to 31:02).

Rachel Willand-Charnley, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at South Dakota State University and is program director of the new research collaboration.

Jon Kellar, Ph.D., is the Douglas Fuerstenau Professor of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at South Dakota Mines. Randy Hoover, Ph.D., is a professor of electrical engineering, also at South Dakota Mines.

Plus, wealth advisor Rick Kahler gives listeners a tax checkup. He answers what could be next for tax policy now that Republicans control the House, Senate and White House (31:02 to 48:40).
