South Dakota kids star in new independent film 'Jazzy'

South Dakota filmmaker Morrisa Maltz found the stars of her latest feature film while filming "Unknown Country."

"Jazzy" is an independent movie released this month. It features Spearfish and Pine Ridge actors Jasmine Bearkiller Shangreaux and her friend Syriah Foolhead Means.

The creator and actors of "Jazzy" share the story behind the movie and the appeal of never growing up (1:00 to 22:50).

Plus, Teacher Talk focuses on self-compassion and the power of talking to yourself like you would to a friend (22:50 to 48:36).

Jackie Wilber, Ed.D, is a faculty member and director of the Center for Student and Professional Services at the University of South Dakota School of Education. Gina Benz teaches Teacher Pathway and AP English Language at Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls.
