South Dakota House Republicans have passed a completely rewritten version of a bill from Gov. Kristi Noem to allow employees to gain exemptions from their employer’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Both chambers of the South Dakota Legislature have approved a bill creating immunity for campground owners whose guests encounter the inherent risks of camping, such as bugs and birds and tree stumps.

New numbers from the Sioux Falls Police Department show record amounts of overdose deaths and fentanyl seized in 2021. Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum says his department needs the public’s help to fight the negative trends.
