This summer has been one of the hottest for South Dakota. Rapid City has broken temperature records, and Sioux Falls recently saw its highest temperature since 1995. In rural areas, farmers are taking precautions to protect their cattle against heat stress.

Governor Kristi Noem hosted an agricultural innovation forum at Daktotafest in Mitchell on Tuesday. Noem says she is committed to the state’s agricultural industries and wants to ensure South Dakota is at the forefront of innovation.

An old library at South Dakota Mines in Rapid City has a new look. School officials cut the ribbon this week on a 6$.7 million renovation of the Devereaux Library.

The Avera Foundation reports it raised $46 million in the past fiscal year. Annual donations to the foundation had averaged just under $18 million from 2016 through 2020. That amount more than doubled in 2021.
