For the first time in a decade South Dakota’s Indian Education Summit recently returned to Rapid City. It was the first in-person summit in two years.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem discloses that she recently underwent back surgery to treat a problem with her spine. The 50-year-old Republican governor says she recently traveled to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for the surgery after receiving medical treatment for several weeks in South Dakota.

Average gasoline prices in South Dakota have fallen 6.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.63/g as of Monday, according to GasBuddy's survey of 628 stations in South Dakota. Prices in South Dakota are 29.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago

The City of Sioux Falls recently bestowed an additional 14 acres of land to the South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs. This land is adjacent to the original 60 acres the city gifted to the Department for the construction of a state veterans cemetery.

The arson conviction of a Sioux Falls woman has been upheld by the South Dakota Supreme Court. Jacqueline Krouse was found guilty by a judge, rather than a jury, of setting fire to her house in March 2019 for insurance money. Krouse appealed, saying the state did not provide adequate evidence that she set the fire or that she intended to defraud her insurance provider.
