State officials are issuing an air quality alert for South Dakota. It comes as another round of smoke from wildfires moves into the region.

The Indigent Legal Services Task Force is zooming in on how to potentially improve services in South Dakota. From juvenile offenders to public defense, the committee continued their work this week.

Sioux Falls city leaders are standing behind a decision to close a taxidermy exhibit at the Great Plains Zoo. Zoo officials say they're closing the Delbridge Museum because the decades-old specimens were processed with dangerous chemicals — including arsenic.

The Forest Service is looking for public input on a proposed tree management plan in the Black Hills. The Spruce Vegetation Management Project aims to reestablish ponderosa pine and aspen trees in areas presently dominated by spruce.

The state Transportation Commission is awarding $74 million to fund bridge construction projects across the state. The commission received more than 260 applications.
