Rep. Dusty Johnson joined many Republican colleagues in voting to oust Rep. George Santos. Santos is facing 23 federal criminal charges for fabricating parts of his life to get elected.

Construction on Block 5, a high-rise development in downtown Rapid City, forced an evacuation of the area after structural concerns were found in an elevator shaft. The multi-ton structure was found to be physically sinking into the earth.

South Dakota U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson is introducing a bill allowing states to divert investment dollars from certain industries in China. The proposal mirrors a law passed by Congress in 2010 against Iran.

Landowners' rights and grassroot policy are major points of discussion at this year's South Dakota Farmers Union Convention. State and county officials are meeting in Huron for the 108th annual event.
