On today's update...

The Senate State Affairs Committee is considering several election-related bills proposed by the secretary of state. Senate Bill 17 impacts full-time travelers who are registered to vote in the state and Senate Bill 18 allows the secretary of state to share information from state-wide voter registration files.

Legislative leaders are urging Governor Kristi Noem to appoint two new lawmakers to fill Rapid City vacancies in the legislature. One Senate seat is vacant as well as two seats in a House district.

A bill that would mandate the ACT as a standardized test in South Dakota has been tabled in committee. Looking forward though, it's a change likely to come in the next few years.

The city of Sioux Falls wants to help residents in historic district revitalize their homes. The program is available to homeowners in any of the five historic districts in the city.
