House Republicans say they're going to 7invite the backer of a constitutional abortion rights ballot question to testify in a legislative hearing. The hearing could kick off what will likely be a topic of heavy discussion until November.

A member of Republican leadership in the state Senate is taking a temporary leave of absence for health reasons. Senator Michael Diedrich of Rapid City has been unable to attend session since the first week due to a blood clot that required emergency surgery.

A bill is moving through the legislature aiming to give tribal entities access housing infrastructure dollars. But tribes have already missed out on several rounds of funding. That leaves the question — just how much will tribes be able to benefit this late in the game?

The Senate Health and Human Services Committee stops two medical marijuana bills in their tracks while amending a third. The amended bill requires users to check a box that acknowledges a federal firearm restriction notice versus requiring a signature for the notice.
