On today's update...

South Dakota's top political leaders are condemning an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend. One attendee was killed and two were injured in the incident.

The South Dakota Supreme Court is ordering a lower court to reconsider part of a case involving a crop duster dispute. It centers around trespassing laws and dead trees.

Lawrence and Minnehaha Counties are both ordered to pay an advocacy group's attorney's fees and costs over a dispute involving petition circulators. A federal judge is ordering Lawrence County to pay more than $19,000 and Minnehaha County — nearly $55,000 after a settlement.

As Rapid City grapples with an increased crime rate, that also means strain on the local court network. The Pennington County States Attorney says now is a good time to consolidate much of her office's work into a single unit.

And more.
