Firefighters continue to battle the First Thunder Fire. It began late Monday on private land around three miles southwest of Rapid City.

Tribal leaders want more than conversation from elected officials. The request for action comes after meeting with the U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Senator Mike Rounds to discuss public safety challenges facing the tribes.

Dwindling summer daylight means back-to-school for students, teacher, and other staff. Three school superintendents from across the state talk about some of the challenges they face this year.
