A juvenile faces charges for allegedly making threats to Sioux Falls schools this week on social media. Earlier this week, a post went around that made threats to schools across the country, including the Sioux Falls School District.

The South Dakota Supreme Court appoints a new magistrate judge for the 2nd Judicial Circuit. Alison Nelson has been a prosecutor in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties since 2017.

Game, Fish, and Parks officials say Pelican Lake Recreation Area near Watertown tests positive for Zebra Mussels. The invasive species was confirmed as park employees were checking swim buoys at the lake.

Numbers are up across the board in South Dakota's university system. In total, the state tallies a five percent increase in headcount and more than 36,000 students.

A strong trail network can be a great tourism driver, but it comes at a cost. Management, maintenance, and bureaucracy are all part of the deal, especially in Forest Service lands.
