The legal saga surrounding the Mitchell Legion baseball team has reached a formal conclusion. After guilty please to lesser crimes from the group of baseball players, the group has received probation and suspended sentences. A warning, this story contains descriptions of sexual assault.

Attorney General Marty Jackley has concerns about the validity of a ballot effort to mandate prayer in South Dakota schools. In a statement, he says he interprets the state Constitution to read that a sponsor of an initiated ballot measure must be a citizen of South Dakota.

The 2025 budget is set in Sioux Falls. At $781 million, it represents a lower overall balance from last year.
