On today's update...

South Dakotans can officially cast their ballots in the 2024 general election. Early voting opened Friday according to the Secretary of State's office.

Constitutional Amendment H is one of many questions South Dakota voters will have to answer this election cycle. Amendment H would open the primary voting process to more voters and reform the state primary system to allow the top two finishers onto the general ballot.

One question on the November ballot gives South Dakota a chance to weigh in on the state's grocery sales tax. IM28 would eliminate tax on items sold for human consumption, which the state has historically taxed at a rate of 4.5 percent.

The South Dakota Supreme Court is suspending former Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg's law license for six months. That's according to an order released Thursday morning.

Avera Health announces it's ending its participation with Humana Medicare Advantage at the end of the year. Officials cite ongoing issues that negatively impact patient care.
