Gov. Larry Rhoden wants a ‘reset’ on the proposed men’s prison project. Rhoden signed an executive order to form a task force on Thursday morning. The group is comprised of lawmakers and stakeholders to find a path forward on a prison this year.

The Joint Committee on Appropriations advances a bill cutting state library funding. Though the proposed cuts have received backlash, committee members say this bill is a happy medium that “saves” the state’s library system.

A House Resolution passing committee would create a pathway for South Dakota to add Amtrak.

Governor Larry Rhoden signs HB1053 into law. The bill requires age verification by websites containing material that is harmful to minors.
