Ground has been broken on a new emergency care unit for the Black Hills. Just off the interstate, Monument Health leadership says it represents the future of the network and the development in the area.

Crews with the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead say they’ll undergo the careful process of lowering about 380 steel beams a mile underground soon. Each beam weighs about 12,800 pounds.

A Rapid City brewery is purchasing a popular brewery building in the Black Hills that closed in December. On Monday, Cohort Brewing and Elevate Rapid City announced the Cohort had purchased the Miner Brewing building and surrounding land, which is located on Highway 385, north of Hill City.

Over $600,000 is being designated for schools across the state to support career and technical education, or CTE, programs. CTE is a resource to help students learn specific job skills.

A report released by the City of Sioux Falls shows the city had the lowest per capita violent crime rate since 2019.
