Tensions are growing following Israel’s preemptive strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Iran followed up with strikes of its own. South Dakota’s lone rabbi had just returned from a trip to Israel with state leaders shortly before the strikes.
While discussions around a new state prison continue, one of the proposed sites is holding community forums to provide information to the public.
South Dakota is expected to receive more than $10 million as part of a settlement with Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sackler family. The $7.4 billion settlement ends the litigation against the company for its role in fueling the opioid crisis.
