On today's update...

Tomorrow, we could have details about the location of a new men’s prison. If something is recommended in the prison task force meeting, the Legislature will need a 2/3 vote to move the project forward.

While many argue that Sioux Falls is the best location for a new $600 million men's prison, one of the city's leaders disagrees with that assessment. Similarly, a second site in Sioux Falls is in the mix now as well.

The 148-acre parcel is located along Benson Road, south of the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. The task force is considering sites in Sioux Falls, Mitchell, Worthing, and Springfield.
