Paula A. Kerger is president and chief executive officer of PBS, the nation's largest non-commercial media organization. She discusses the current threat to previously allocated federal funds for public broadcasting.

Gov. Larry Rhoden is appointing an agriculture advocate to fill an empty legislative seat. Brandon Wipf will represent District 22 in the Senate, a district that includes the Huron and Redfield areas.

The closure of Presentation College in Aberdeen left holes in the community, literal and metaphorical. Now, the first steps are being taken to reclaim the space the college once stood on.

The American Jump Rope Federation hosted its National Grand Finals in Sioux Falls, a first for South Dakota. Over 100 competitors hopped to Augustana to showcase their speed and skills for a national title.

The South Dakota State Library is announcing the 2025-2028 recipients of the School Achievement Through Libraries (SATL) Award. The award honors schools that demonstrate exemplary practice in three factors of school librarianship: educational programming available for students, physical and virtual learning environment, and the professional qualifications of the staff.

Pheasants Forever is enrolling a new landowner in its Public Access to Habitat – or PATH - program who is offering a major donation of land in northwest South Dakota. A 30-thousand-acre donation in Ziebach County is the largest single enrollment in the program.
