The South Dakota Supreme Court has thrown out a case involving 46 alleged violations of a law prohibiting misleading spam emails. The case of Lapin V. ZeetoGroup ultimately hinged on location rather than the content of the alleged misleading spam.

The South Dakota Department of Corrections is seeing more deaths among prison inmates than in recent years. Officials note this past fiscal year saw the most deaths of any year since 2018.

U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson is introducing legislation to prohibit the Department of Transportation from providing federal funds to sanctuary cities. He says the move to introduce such legislation comes in response to anti-ICE protests across the country.

Meanwhile, the South Dakota State Government has entered an agreement specifically to assist in deportation efforts by ICE.
